I would recommend not using Band0 as it is not properly calculated in this plugin (see 3rd party "AudioAnalyzer" plugin for "Comparison to AudioLevel"); I calculate Band0 but do not use it in the display.

You can see the Frequency for each Band by creating child measures of the Type=BandFreq to see the frequency of each band; I have not had success when trying to use this and actually I do not care that much about the actual frequency because the entire frequency range will be displayed based on the number of defined Bands.

To display the 'peak' for each FFT, I usually create a separate measure to control that meter; I believe you could use your solution for RMS peak to control the display (the hold time and drop time) of each FFT peak meter.

I thought the foobar Analyser changed number of bands depending on window width, but it doesn't it's the width of each individual band that changes size.

So, the number of bands is a constant. You can hover over the individual bands to see what that specific frequency is. As you can see in the original gif, there's a scale at the bottom indicating frequency range. It starts at A1=55.00Hz and goes up to C9=8372Hz.

Just count the notes on a keyboard from one to the other to get the specific number required. As for setting each bands frequency, try this.

Sorry it took so long. I'll pm the link.

I updated foobar x32 to v2. the buttons on the toolbar were given my own icons, I've set them to not show custom icons as the paths will obviously change for your system. Only 3 icons can be seen, but the buttons are still there. The first four buttons are:
Stop, Previous, Play/Pause, Next.
Just so you know where the controls are for playing tracks.

This is a complete set up of foobar with all my addons included. They should all be working with it, but you're likely only interested in one anyway. :D

Just drag an audio file to the right hand pane and press play button.

yet when trying out the v.2 and v.1 foobar2000, I didn't find anything like the nice spectrum analyzer or settings in the GIF that I used as a model:

I mean, it's closer if you look at the holds, but still quite different. It's probably some plugins / addons doing that, but right now I've come to hate foobar2000 (or any music bee or whatever is not winamp) with extreme passion! :twisted:

By the way, in both versions I tried, the frequency range was different, and it didn't have the GIF's 88 band from A1 to C9.

EDIT: Hopefully the PM will solve this, so I can move to replicate the Winamp spectrum.

Oh, now it's MUCH better on the visual / configuration side, indeed. 8-)

However, the differences still exist - look at the hold indicators, they should be similar especially given that they keep values for 1 second (albeit their trend seems to be somewhat similar on average in terms of where the bands increase or decrease):

I have no idea which one is accurate either! :lol: I suppose the foobar one, given that the audio field "should" be their "speciality", so to speak. In terms of math, I trust Rainmeter (not necessarily AudioLevel, as eclectic-tech mentioned), but yeah, it depends on what things that math is based on.

EDIT: Added tooltips and band count change on scroll to the above code, as well as "hiding" / zeroing out the "bars" that are beyond the band count. Also increased the Update variable to 50, to ease the workload on the CPU a bit. By the way, this requires the Mouse plugin by NighthawkSLO to get the band index used to display the hovered band info in the tooltips.

Comparison with Foobar and its plugin with the nice visuals (side by side, superimposed) - now, besides the slightly different amplitude of some bands, their overall shape is quite similar, given that I replicated exactly the frequency interval (based on the Type=BandFreq values, which seem to work for me, unlike for eclectic-tech) and adjusted the FFT attack and decay in the AudioLevel parent measure:

Wow that is a lot of work! Thanks for sharing. I'm sort of over run with Rainmeter stuff at the moment. lol will get back to this one though!

I have no idea which one is accurate either! :lol: I suppose the foobar one, given that the audio field "should" be their "speciality", so to speak. In terms of math, I trust Rainmeter (not necessarily AudioLevel, as eclectic-tech mentioned), but yeah, it depends on what things that math is based on.
