Well it is strange, but other than an actual file structure comparison, i don't see how I can track down 'why' the config skin for clipboard meter isn't working. (and just checked now, the 'show tooltips' checkbox is also unable to change. Clicking it shows that it 'tries' to change it but it stays checked, although I can adjust the values in the boxes below - size, etc and that works.)

Considering that all of the other gadgets work(with the 'updated' clipboard meter installed directly after the main suite), coupled with fact they were all installed on fresh machine direct from downloading, after only having installed firefox and hwinfo before hand, just compounds it ... its not anything "I" did up to that point.

But I did get it working, just took a different route than intended.

Hmm. Well, if you want to find out "why", it's going to be critical to see the Rainmeter log to see if anything shows up. I'm not surprised the tooltips checkbox isn't working; if the other one doesn't work I wouldn't expect this to work either. What I *AM* surprised about is that the other options (size, etc.) work. They really shouldn't work either, since it's the same basic operation. And if the other Gadgets allow changing the background, then it's even weirder, since it is all the exact same code. It would be really helpful if you could post your Rainmeter.log file; without it, it's just random guessing.

In the above log, Just before saving /posting the log, I opened clipboard settings, adjusted size back to 1.0, refreshed, adjusted it back to 1.5 size, and attempted to click all the other radio buttons (show tooltips, backgrounds) - As u can see it reflects the changes made with size and refreshing, but not the attempted clicking. I then did the same with CPU meter(clicked show ram, let it refresh, click show ram to enable again, clicked all 3 backgrounds allowing it to show before changing, etc) - Thought doing the 'thing' with other meter I want to do /tried to do with clipboad may assist.

I know I've been a huge hassle about this, but would like to ask another question about the GPU meter (Sadly for whatever reason, imgur will not allow me to post that particular image, idk why, it lets me post all others, even much larger in size, and in various other format/file types, but not the one in question - Edit, was the # in the filename that was causing issue.)

Question I have is, how can I hide the 'user/free/total (Assume pagefile?) and usage (just above memory clock) cuz I feel this particular GPU does not have sensors for those values (radeon RX 5700XT) - iif not its fine, just maybe this might be an easier solve than the weirdness with the clipboard problem above.

Well, you got me stumped. Your log file is clean, and I get the same logging appearance when I make changes. For some bizarre reason, the change either is not being written to the file without Rainmeter throwing errors (which seems hard to believe), or the change is written but somehow not saved. Perhaps the change isn't getting flushed to disk before Rainmeter refreshes. But since you are doing the exact same operation with the other Gadgets and they work fine, I really don't get it. The code is line-for-line identical.

There's no way for me to debug this issue; I'd need to watch every operation one step at a time in your environment to see what's happening... Oh well, sorry I can't help on this one. You'll just need to set the options manually by editing the variables file. As you can see in the clip, it's all working fine for me, and I've never had anyone else mention anything like what you are seeing.

here is a thing, if possible(and asking before I try) how can I completely remove clipboard meter(including all its configs, etc) and clear registry of it, then reinstall to see if its somehow related to something else.

As is it really is 'fine' as it is now that I know I can just alter the config file myself manually, but yes, it is confusing that it won't 'accept' clicks on the options when all the other skins work fine(Both any/all radio checkboxes, and the circular background options)

Only thing is, like you said, something got fubared somewhere, and considering this is a (mostly) fresh system setup (IE 2 days old at this point) I cannot 'blame' anything on stuff installed. ESP For the fact that clipboard meter was installed directly after the main suite(I downloaded main one first, then got clipboard, all within a few seconds)

OK So never-mind that, I just unloaded clipboard and re-ran the file I had saved already and it works now O.o

Swear there is a bloody ghost in this machine playing with me.

OK, so AMD GPUs are a bit of a pain to deal with, but you can get them to display VRAM values properly. Your Radeon is pretty new, so it should work fine.

The first thing you need to do is find the GPU sensor entry in HWiNFO that shows the amount of VRAM memory allocated. I wish I could tell you what it is named, but it can vary (it is usually something like "GPU Memory Usage") and it will be a value in megabytes (MB). Once you find it, click the Sensor Settings option and switch to the HWiNFO Gadget tab and enable this sensor for reporting.

Next, look for a GPU sensor entry that shows the percentage of VRAM in use. Only a few AMD GPUs have this. If you find it, set it for reporting as well.

That's all you need for HWiNFO. The next step is to adjust the HWiNFO.inc file. Open the GPU Settings and click the links for listing the indexes and for editing the settings. I am going to assume your GPU is number #0, so if it is not, adjust the variable names accordingly (i.e., change "GPU0" to "GPU1", etc.).

Find the variable HWiNFO_GPU0_MemoryUsage. This is the percentage of VRAM in use. If you do have this sensor (unlikely), enter in the index. Otherwise set the value to blank (nothing after the equal sign).

Find the variable HWiNFO_GPU0_MemoryAlloc. This is the amount of VRAM in use in MB. Enter the index number for this sensor (if you don't have this sensor at the very least, you are pretty much hosed).

Finally, find the variable GPU0_MemoryTotal. Enter the total amount of VRAM installed on your video card, in megabytes. If you have 4 GB of VRAM for example, set the value to 4096.

Save the file, refresh the GPU Meter and you should be good to go. (The instructions at the top of the HWiNFO.inc file explain all this as well.)

Ok... i checked off all the 'memory use' (both % and raw value) in the sensors for gpu settings, and where memory useage shows 'total raw' amount (Sensor 57) the ini file demands it be in % value... righ tnow am trying the d3d values, but those just don't seem to reflect anything(IE showing 0 when I run games, but will randomly pop up to a few % when just idling) so I'm not sure those are what I am seeking here.

You got the settings flipped. HWiNFO_GPU0_MemoryUsage should be set to blank since you don't have this sensor. HWiNFO_GPU0_MemoryAlloc should be set to index 57, according to your screenshot.

The confusion is understandable. For some reason, nVidia sensors are named "Memory Usage" for the percentage in use, while AMD uses the same name for the amount in MB in use.

Ok thank you that worked. Now that it all works, I have to tell you thank you so much for all the time you spent here with an idiot. I REALLY appreciate it, and hope I was not too frustrating to deal with. Once again, thank you.
