If this has already been posted, I apologize. I have not seen it mentioned here.
I came across this today and thought some people might find it of use/interest/consideration. It is a new weather API available at https://open-meteo.com/en.
It claims to be new.
It claims to be free.
It claims you do not need an API key.
It might not be around very long (my own addition, there).
It might have something to offer that is not available through the current rainmeter weather offerings (which have thankfully taken most all of the pain out of weather skin creation).
If you want to put the pain back into creating a weather skin, this might help you reach that goal.
I'm attaching two screen grabs: One of the main page and the other of the "url generator page" which shows some of the available variables.
The whole project is up on github at https://github.com/open-meteo/open-meteo/releases.

Not bad! If you are looking for just the basics, this ought to do it. The only downside I can see is that the conditions are updated hourly (if I read the docs correctly), which is a pretty slow rate.
