i have been thinking that we need to do more in order to bring more peoples and donations to the forum...few ideas
1- to encourge users to donate, we could give them awards or titles in a form of abanner under thier name such as
*- user for normal user.
*- supporter for donating user. according to the donation like $10 title for 6 month, $20 for 12 month snd so on
*- VIP for donating and supporting in the forum and heloping others.
we can have member of the month in the forum...to choose the most active member and make a thread to congraulate him and encourge him more...
i just think that alot of people come to the forum and dont bother to register which is fine but we can do somthing to encourge them to register and be an active member of the community
what you guys think?

Re: ideas for improvement
Good idea I think. I was one of the "I am too lazy to register". Special ranks could make people more active.

Re: ideas for improvement
I understand the sentiment and intention, but I would vote strongly against anything of the sort. I am just in princlple opposed to any form of "elitism" on the board.
What I enjoy is the "community" of people who like Rainmeter and enjoy helping each other out and imporoving the program with suggestions and feedback. I think we have a pretty good community here, one of the best I've seen for a "support forum" for a software applicaiton, and I personally don't think we need to gimmick it up.
Just my two cents. I'm fine with what most folks want.

i understand ur principles my friend...but what u think of the memebr of the month idea, just to create sort of healthy competition between the members in the communityjsmorley wrote:I understand the sentiment and intention, but I would vote strongly against anything of the sort. Re: ideas for improvement
"Member of the Month" is probably the one I like the least. It reminds me of "Employee of the Month" which is almost universally a pointless exercise in managment trying to distract employees from the fact that they are nameless, faceless, cannon fodder with gimmicks like "Employee of the Month" or "Attaboy Awards" consisting of a coffee mug and badly laid out letters (they ran out of 'E"s, so they had to use a backwards/upside down "3" in one spot) on one of those magnetic-letter signs in the lobby next to the guard station where they are searching the boxes of the latest employee being frog-marched out in the current round of layoffs.Digi wrote: i understand ur principles my friend...but what u think of the memebr of the month idea, just to create sort of healthy competition between the members in the community
Ok, so I'm the last person you ask to run the company "Employee Picnic"...
It's just my personal style. I know what you are talking about and understand your motivations. I'm just not a fan of these kinds of what I see as gimmicks. Again, I am just one voice, but I prefer a more professional flavor to the forums. Leave FarmVille to Facebook.
