Thread about Windows 11

Post by jsmorley »

I think it would be best to start a dedicated thread for discussions about the new Windows 11...

It will take some getting used to, and there are still a LOT of hinky things that need to be stamped out in this early beta, but I'm sorta ok with it so far.

One thing I changed right away, and I'd recommend it in a "desktop/laptop" environment, is to get rid of all the extra spacing in lists of files in Windows Explorer... It would be fine on a tablet, where you are concerned about your fat fingers. With a mouse, it's just annoying.

1. How did you get rid of the language selector?
2. Why is your Rainmeter icon white🤔?

The only way I can see to get rid of the language selector on the taskbar is to go to Languages in Settings, and "Remove" all languages except your primary one. If there is no choice to be made, there is no selector.

I use a custom .ico file that I created, and use it in a TrayMeasure section in Rainmter.ini

https://docs.rainmeter.net/manual/settings/traymeasure-section/

Code: Select all

[TrayMeasure]
Measure=Calc
Formula=1
TrayMeter=Bitmap
TrayBitmap=Icon\RainmeterWhite.ico

I have only one language, but have two keyboard layouts (Idk why) and I don't know where to change that.

I was envious of Mr. Morley's cool Rainmeter icon too.
