Obviously there are. You just have to make a search into the Share Your Creations section of this forum. Here is a small list of works having weather skins as well, all of them being available for download directly here on this forum. Note that as of 15/01 weather.com has been deprecated, I'm not sure which of the weather skins of these uploads are working, because I didn't tried out all these, but you can give them a try. Maybe you'll have luck and will get any of them working.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, it appears as if forecast.weather.gov provides an XML feed.

I went hear:
https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?x=243&y=93&site=iln&zmx=&zmy=&map_x=243&map_y=93

Scroll down to the middle right and click on the XML button to get this:

https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=40.0304&lon=-83.0022&unit=0&lg=english&FcstType=dwml

I will look at modifying my widget which shows current conditions and a seven day forecast using this feed.

I think the only issue with using something based on the NOAA is that it will be limited to USA locations. If this wasn't the case, that would be perfect, as the government isn't likely to start charging for or otherwise obfuscating our tax-dollar paid for data.

(I edited my message to replace forecast.weather.com with forecast.weather.gov).

Yep, this site would only be for 4% of the population.

Personal thanks to you, jsmorley, for all the work on Rainmeter. It is the first app I install on any new computer. I've been a user since before v 0.14 (circa 2006?)

So is VClouds Weather 2 basically dead now? Or is there a post in this thread describing how to revive it?

Thanks!

Dead, until the author or someone else does some extensive re-writing of the code.

https://darksky.net/dev has a 'free' api for weather based on lat/long.
I say 'free' because it requires you to get your own api key (not a big deal) and allows up to 1000 api calls a day for free (which is overkill).

Now we just need to get the results parsed and we're back in business.

Found another free option:
https://openweathermap.org/api
60 api/min allowance on free account

EDIT: this one doesn't seem to have 'feels like' (apparent) temperature..
I was considering OpenWeatherMap for a while a long time ago, but they don't offer daily forecasts for free, which is kind of stupid. I switched to Dark Sky back in September. If you need a parser that's already been built, check out my skins. The link to my website is in my signature, but the skins are also on this page.

I think the task is not limited to finding a free feed/API, the information provider has to provide reliable information, so I feel stuck on Weather.com, the others I used do not report accuracy for my location.

I will wait a while longer, but I'm willing to parse the Weather.com html if necessary, and of course, you always help! :)
I think I just need someone to start the job and everyone helped. ;-)

I have been extracting html data for my Moon and Sun information for a long time and so far I have had no problems.
