I can't seem to find a list of descriptions and their respective icon number for Weather.com. I remember when Yahoo! had a table with all the descriptions, however, Yahoo! is unstable as stated by JSMorley.
Could someone point out a website to a list/table or quickly create a quick list of them... Thanks in advanced
(Also I didn't know where to post this topic so I put it in the "Rainmeter Skins" thread, though if it's the wrong place then tell me.)

Although this list was made for Yahoo Weather, if I'm not wrong, the list is similar for Weather.com.DeathByChocolate wrote:I can't seem to find a list of descriptions and their respective icon number for Weather.com. Thanks fonpaolo, this is just what I needed.fonpaolo wrote:Not really similar...
When it says "(the "Night" will not be included)", does that mean that the description won't say "Night" but Wetaher.com will display icons implying it is night? Or does Weather.com also ignore the "Night"?

The first. It will use night icons.DeathByChocolate wrote:Thanks fonpaolo, this is just what I needed.

Not sure it is important, but those descriptions are what the icon numbers "mean", not necessarily what will be the text in the "current conditions". There is no one-to-one relationship between code number and description. I think the weather guys make up the descriptions on the fly sometimes.

Totally agreed!jsmorley wrote:...

So, now, I'm aware that's not only for my country.

No, when I got up this morning, my "description" was "Unknown Precipitation". Now it is "Light Snow", neither of which is in that list of code "meanings".fonpaolo wrote:Totally agreed!

Well, I have translated the conditions for my weather skin in some languages, trying to shorten the text, to have a similar look (and meaning), sometimes, as you, it end up with some "strange" term and I have to update the translations.

Re: List of Weather.com descriptions and icons
Very difficult to get right. While there is a single "meaning" to each icon, there is just an enormous amount of "subtlety" in how the weather guys might describe the current conditions. For instance, there may be some very subtle difference between "light snow" and "flurries", or "freezing rain" and "sleet", which may well use the same icons. Don't forget, Eskimos have 500 different ways of describing snowfall...fonpaolo wrote:Well, I have translated the conditions for my weather skin in some languages, trying to shorten the text, to have a similar look (and meaning), sometimes, as you, it end up with some "strange" term and I have to update the translations.

Oh... note to self... don't translate in Eskimo!
I'm using the "same" skin for some years, until now I encountered only a few "strange" terms, mostly in the last year.
