Yes, already known, but it's a real problem only if you're using a very huge playlist.

I don't know, I'm not using Spotify, just read an article about this and wanted to warn users.

I also don't use spotify, some time ago I was thinking to make a variant for spotify users, then I put it aside...
Since I read Ars, there are some tests highlighting some real "danger" for huge playlists, it seems a bug that constantly writes the whole playlist again and again.

Which, especially for an SSD, can be fatal.

Yes, but an average SSD in reality has a longer life than we can think, I have seen some tests where they have exceeded the manufacturer limits and they were still good.

I just bought a computer with an SSD, so I'll be curious. I hope it'll properly work long time from now on...

I'm sorry to say it depends on the kind of SSD, high quality is always better...

It's a Samsung SSD, on a HP laptop. I'll see...
