Start Rainmeter on Windows startup...

Post by Mic Dundee »

Newbie here. Installed WITHOUT choosing to launch Rainmeter on Windows startup. (Wanted to check it out first) Thought I could choose this option from the progam's settings. Unless I'm missing something, I don't see the option anywhere (i.e., 'Manage' window) How do I get this to start on Window's startup? Also, is the 'Edit settings' the only place I can set the default folder for my Skins Library?

Nice tool...so far.

It's very simple:
copy the shortcut to Rainmeter (it's in "All Programs" -> "Rainmeter") and paste it in your "Autorun" folder.

For windows 7 user.. :uhuh: I don't know for other OS Coz I don't use them
Copy Rainmeter.exe which is normally in this folder "C:\Program Files\Rainmeter\Rainmeter.exe"
Open Start Menu and type "shell:startup"(without quotes) and press enter.
paste Rainmeter.exe file here.. And you are done.

I will be coming with it soon!

NO, NO, NO... I'm sure this is just an oversight on your part, but still, just NO, NO, NO...

Do NOT copy the .exe file to Startup. Put a shortcut to the .exe in Startup.

Copy Rainmeter.exe which is normally in this folder "C:\Program Files\Rainmeter\".
Hit WIN-R and type "shell:startup" (without quotes) and press enter.
Right click in this folder and select "Paste shortcut"... And you are done.

Another option is to just get a fresh copy of the latest beta of Rainmeter from http://rainmeter.net, and install it. On the second dialog during the installation, be sure to check "Launch Rainmeter on startup".
