Lately when I try installing a skin via RainBrowser it states that it cannot install unless I have the latest Rainmeter beta version of 1.3.508, and I'm currently using the latest 1.3.524. Yet, for some reason I am unable to install a skin due to my Rainmeter being out of date? I have not previously had this problem with other skins using RainInstaller, including the new Kotoko Suite, which was the last skin I installed using Rainmeter.
I've tried uninstalling Rainmeter and reinstalling it to no avail. Does anyone here know how to fix this?

The most recent one that hasn't been working is JSMeterIII here http://jsmorley.deviantart.com/art/JSMeterIII-176109829
This one also does not work http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=§ion=&q=Rainmeter+1.3#/d2usi8s

Both work fine for me (I'm on 1.3 beta r529). Can you confirm (right-click on Rainmeter -> About) that you're on 1.3 beta r524 or higher?Sewaged wrote:The most recent one that hasn't been working is JSMeterIII here http://jsmorley.deviantart.com/art/JSMeterIII-176109829

Re: RainInstaller not working
I am definitely on beta 1.3.0.524. Checked the about config, and properties all is up to date. Not sure why this isn't working. I'm using the 64bit version also if that helps.

Re: RainInstaller not working
Unfortunately I was unable to open either of these. =(
Getting the same message that my Rainmeter is not up to date. Requires 508 or higher.

Re: RainInstaller not working
I am pretty sure that you, unknowingly, have two instances of Rainmeter installed. Now, what you need to do is download AND install this (nothing will be installed, it's blank): http://poiru.kapsi.fi/test3.rmskin
Rainstaller will automatically launch Rainmeter after installation. When it does, look at the About dialog and you'll surely see something other than 1.3 r524.
(If you do see something other than r524, let me know and we'll get rid of the "2nd" Rainmeter, which you somehow have installed..)

Re: RainInstaller not working
Okay.. So what we need to do now is get rid of both installations of Rainmeter.
To do this, download http://poiru.kapsi.fi/SPP.rmskin
Install it, and let it launch Rainmeter. It'll open a skin that shows a path. Once you've taken down this path, quit Rainmeter.
Then, open Rainmeter "normally" (i.e. from a shortcut). The displayed path will be different. Take note of this path as well and quit Rainmeter.
Then, go to the %APPDATA% folder (just open the Run dialog, type %APPDATA% and press enter). There will be a folder called Rainmeter. Rename this folder to something else (e.g. Rainmeter2) so that your settings will not be lost.
Now, go to the first path you took down, and there will be uninst.exe. Execute it to uninstall Rainmeter #1.
Then go to the second path you took down, and there will be uninst.exe. Execute it to uninstall Rainmeter #2.
Once you've uninstalled both installations of Rainmeter, go to %APPDATA% and rename Rainmeter2 back to Rainmeter.
Now it's time to install Rainmeter again. So, go to http://rainmeter.net and fetch Rainmeter 1.2 (or Rainmeter 1.3 beta, doesn't matter). Install it and now you should be able to install JSMeter and the rest
And in the future, plz don't install Rainmeter to different locations..
