Public Google Calendar and Rainmeter Skins

I'm creating a skin for myself and some other fans of a particular sports team. I'd like to create a calendar skin that will read a public Google Calendar that I've created and show events in the calendar skin..

I know that Gnometer has a skin that interacts with Google Calendar. Can I leverage that in my skin? If so, can someone point me in the right direction for documentation, etc? I've looked all over Google and here and can't find much.

If I can't leverage the Gnometer calendar skin, any ideas on what I can use?
