K so I just downloaded this program last night, played with it and fell in love. I want to start getting down to the code level. I'm curious how to import a custom image (I'm guessing it has to be in .png format for translucency) and just load it as an object I can move around the desktop, and apply the rainmeter properties to.
Is this easy to do?

Yes, it is very easy to do.
I'd recommend reading the manual first, though.
This will answer all your questions faster than any response on this forum could do

There's also a manual coming with Rainmeter. Just do a right-click on any skin -> Help.
Hope I understood you right
