Getting information frm Winamp

What I would like to do is get information from winamp so that I can have two string meters saying the artist and the track title respectively. I honestly have no understanding of how to use plugins to get information from anything other than perfmon, so any help would be appreciated.

I'm far from an expert, but my first thought would be to simply download a winamp skin and open up the .ini file. Shouldn't be hard from there to find what you need to make your own. But, then, I learn from doing, which I know doesn't work for everyone.
