I found a couple lists, that hopefully are usable the same as the [\x00B0]

It's a hexa number, a reference to an Unicode character. As for a list, I personally prefer using this one at Compart - it has categories, blocks, all kind of stuff you can access from the left sidebar. Obviously, you can search for a character, for example this came out after pasting ° in the search box at the top (you get similar results if you literally search for Degree, by the way).
