VPN/MS Exchange Connection Issues

I recently installed Rainmeter 1.2. After I did, I've been unable to connect to MS Exchange through my work VPN. This could just be a coincidence, but I'm wondering if there's anything in Rainmeter that may have messed with the settings somehow.

Just trying to eliminate possibilities.

Running windows XP.

Absolutely nothing that I can think of. Rainmeter changes no settings and in fact the only change to the Registry it makes at all is to add a key under "Software" which contains the install location of Rainmeter. Nothing else is added or changed.

The only remotely possible thing is that the Rainmeter installation process installs or updates your VC++ 2008 runtime libraries to the current version. I don't believe this should ever be an issue with any other software though. The VC++ libraries are historically "backwards compatible" between versions.
