Hey, what about not actually giving focus but making Rainmeter "understand" (imagine?) it was given focus to the skin?

Like a fake focus.

That way the first click outside the skin area will fire OnUnfocusAction

you could have an image with SolidColor=0,0,0,1 as a backdrop with the click event set there?
