ThrottleBrakeSteering(TBS) from Wheel as Graph-Output on screen

Post by IoBondrew »

Hello there;
I would like to have a Skin for Rainmeter that shows three graphs; 2 vertical ones and 1 horizontal.
Visuals should be similar to this;
https://sta.sh/0wpsa2230zw

I'd prefer it if id be able to move and maybe resize each of the bars on their own. Size would be according to different resolutions so they dont disappear into nothingness. Position is so i can put them where they dont obstruct the driver, but others can watch the input without any problem.

The Graphs themselfes should be corresponding to the Input of a steering wheel.
The steering wheels would be;
Logitech
-> G25
-> G29
-> G920
Fanatec
-> CSL Elite PS4

It would be nice if it is possible to make it independent of the steering wheel, so basicly having a menu where you can change the input, like you can in most games as well. That way i wouldnt need to come back if theres another steering wheel that wasnt on the list before.

I dont know anything about rainmeter/programming(only made a tiny bit of visual basics), so if you have any other questions regarding this inquiry please reply.
You can also contact me via Discord; Suzu#9521(tho i will remove my tag once the inquiry is solved), that would reduce my response time significantly as i have Discord open nearly all the time.

Regards
Io Bondrew

Little Edit; background for why i want to use rainmeter instead of existing mods;
-Ease of installation
-Avaiability on more than just one game

Of which the first one would be sth i would want the programm to be
Regards
Io

I am sorry, but we do not allow skin requests on our forums.
https://forum.rainmeter.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=8195

However, lots of members are happy to help answer questions as you build your skin(s).

To get started, I would suggest reading through our documentation.

Here are a few links to help get you started:
https://docs.rainmeter.net/manual/getting-started/creating-skins/
https://docs.rainmeter.net/manual/getting-started/skin-anatomy/
https://docs.rainmeter.net/manual/getting-started/basic-tutorials/

Here is how the Bar meter works:
https://docs.rainmeter.net/manual/meters/bar/

Also, it helps to find a skin "close" to what you are looking for, and then edit as you see fit.

A couple of notes on your "request".
1. I am not aware of a Rainmeter plugin to get input from a steering wheel. Possibly dgrace's XInput? (You might have to ask for help in that thread.)
2. Menu systems are difficult to make in Rainmeter. While possible, it usually requires the use of the InputText plugin, which can be difficult for beginners.

To be honest with you, if there is no plugin out there that can work with a steering wheel controller, then you may be out of luck.

Good luck,
-Brian

Thanks for your Reply Brian,
Although it doesnt help me. There was another Person who replied to my request, but i am not able to see what the person wrote.
As for "teaching a man to fish" instead of "giving him a fish"; i dont have the time to learn rainmeter myself, neither to then find out that it isnt even possible because there is no plugin to work with.
The reasons i went on here were that ive seen a request beeing answered(and finished at that, not too long ago), and i know that the installation of rainmeter skins is pretty easy and fast.

I appreciate that you want to help me make the skin but that is(atleast for the moment) out of question.

Regards
Io
