Those can give you all the CPU-killing eye candy you could ever want, and Marco is a very reliable author.

eclectic-tech also has some very clever stuff using the AudioLevel plugin, I'm sure he can point you to a couple.

Alright thank you all for your help, I was amazed that it worked for my friend who runs the exact same setup as me and it worked for him, I'll try to troubleshoot for an hour or so more but if it doesn't work I'll probably just use your guys built-in skins.

Not so much built-in skins, as there are none that use AudioLevel. I'm just suggesting that you try some other skin, either the examples from the documentation, or one of the many available on deviantART, to see if the problem is with Fountain of Colors, or some incompatibility with your system and AudioLevel in general.

I'm just looking for a visualizer that stays on the desktop when listening to music, Fountain of colors is super bugged and I ended up using spectrum, you can't adjust it's size or color but I guess i'll make do
