I'm pretty sure I'd noticed that. Might it have anything to do with the installation being portable? Though I'm pretty sure I used to get told when there were updates in the past.

I pasted you my Rainmeter.ini contents a few posts ago .
As you can see, nothing regarding update's in there.The rest of the file contents are just skin settings.
Also, the "Check for updates" checkbox's always been checked.

Well, dunno then. Maybe we had an issue with the update checking way back in the paleolithic version 4.0.0 pre-history. Things have been better since we learned to bang the rocks together. Hopefully it will work for you going forward.
