You will find that a given icon will be used by the site for multiple text descriptions.

Yes, as Mr. Morley suggests, I would not attempt to correlate the conditions description with the icon. For example, right now I'm looking at a 5 day forecast where "PM Showers" shows icon 39 (rain cloud + sun), and another day with the exact same "PM Showers", but using icon 11 (just the rain cloud). Also, I've steered the weather locations directly into the middle of hurricanes and tornadoes, and TWC never uses icons 0/1/2, they only seem to use 3/4 (severe thunderstorms) for this.

The text descriptions are not any particular standard, defined by exact conditions, They are a sense of what the conditions are by some person I suspect.

It's the "is it partly clear or mostly cloudy" decision...

The idea isn't to match up the icons with what you will get as the "conditions" in the feed, that is a battle you won't win. The idea is to match up the icon "numbers" properly with a general sense of what they mean.

I found it paid to not even try to have each and every icon represent something different. For instance icons 0-4 all represent some flavor of "storms". I just use the same icon.

I sure hope this is accurate and up-to-date, gonna mess my things up mightily if it's not.
