As eclectic-tech pointed out a change in iTunes 12.7 broke compatibility with Rainmeter and many other programs. We had hoped that Apple would simply revert that change but it seems they have no plan to and thus we are investigating working around it ourselves. Brian will have to confirm but I think we are planning to have our fix in before the final release of 4.1.

Even with the update today, I can't seem to have any success with a couple skins communicating with iTunes still. It doesn't seem to be a skin issue as I can get them to communicate with WMP.

Just duplicating the troubleshooting from my post in your thread:

Try closing out of iTunes and Rainmeter and then relaunching both or rebooting. I have seen iTunes think that Rainmeter is still using the interface after it has been force closed and then prevents the new instance from connecting.
