[Solved] Rainmeter All Skins (error 126)

Post by TheKasarR »

Hi

I'm writing here cause nearly every skin i download don't work.
Why?
There's an error 126 and i don't know how to fix this.
I tried to re-install a lot of visual c++ libraries but it doesn't resolve the problem.
http://prntscr.com/9mkhsr

Maybe someone will know how to resolve it?
Thanks for every help.

Rainmeter 3.3 doesn't really use or require any external C++ runtime libraries for itself or any of the built-in plugins like WebParser or CoreTemp.

This sounds like a likely problem with a mismatch of 32bit and 64bit. I suspect you copied your Rainmeter installation from a 32bit environment to a 64bit one, or have recently upgraded from 32bit to 64bit Windows.

Error 126 is a bit broad, and really just means that an application had an issue loaded a related .dll file. (Like a plugin)

In any case it is almost certainly a mismatch of the "bitness" of Rainmeter vs the plugins Rainmeter is trying to access.

Try deleting your entire C:\Program Files\Rainmeter folder, and re-installing Rainmeter from https://www.rainmeter.net.

Go to About / Version from the Rainmeter tray icon, and using the "Copy to clipboard" button, paste your info here.

Like mine:

Can you try entirely deleting the C:\Program Files\Rainmeter folder, then installing the release version of Rainmeter 3.3 from http://rainmeter.net and see if that fixes it?

I reinstalled all Visual C++ libraries and I reinstalled Rainmeter too.
It works now but, when i want to install any GPU skin like GPU Temp or something
but connected to GPU it just after installing crashes immediately.
When i want to oper rainmeter again it will be crashing until i'll delete skin from folder.
Any idea?

Well, Rainmeter has no internal function or built-in plugin that can do anything with GPU, so I suspect you are using some 3rd-party plugin in your skin. I'd need to know what plugin that is to have an opinion, but at a high-level I must say that I simply don't trust any 3rd-party plugins that access sensors for the GPU except for the HWiNFO plugin for Rainmeter.

Currently I'm using Wisp skin and it's not working.
Every plugin from http://www.deviantart.com/browse/all/customization/skins/?q=GPU is crashing rainmeter.
