New vs old "rainmeter.exe"

Post by mikedigitize »

Hi, I seems to got some mix-up between old (2016) and to-days rainmeter (exe) files. I tried to do a update since my wx-weather stopped working. Is ther a way to proceed to save my old stuff (beside old vclouds, then) (fx change dir name?) if a try to reinstall latest ver, to get new weather.com to run?

Hi mikedigitize

There is no relation between the "stop" of the "wx-weather skin" and Rainmeter version. When you updated Rainmeter to the latest version, the wx-weather skin also doesn't work. For example, see the link about this issue.

And...update to new Rainmeter version does not affect existing skin(s), because it has a "backward compatibility" and doesn't touch existing skin folders, as far as I know.

Yep, you definitely can, because of the backward compatibility mak_kawa is talking about.
However it's extremely simple to try if they really can be ran. Just load them and see if they are working. Simple...
