Sgt Splicer Moon Phase (Updated v1.1 and v2.0 release)

Post by sgtevmckay »

There are a few folks out there that know this has been coming for some time.
and I am done.

so what's in the file?
V1.1 and V2.0

V1.1
MoonPhaseV1_1.JPG
Is a massive code cleaning, skin balancing, RainBrowser compliant, new font (no install required), update to be compliant with the coming Rainmeter 1.1
Other wise it is the skin I started with in the original Moon Phase skin.

V2.2
MoonPhaseV2.JPG
Oh boy this was fun!
It is a modified and expanded version of v1.0 and I just went on working after the updates to v2.0

Change log v2.0
  • Added font (no install required)
added additional information to skin to clarify information.
    Enlarged Moon
Added the ability to utilize 2 additional modified graphics of the moon (included)
    Massive code clean-up
Added links to IoHelix (thanks to Benjam for all the tears that this server has been available to us)
Simplified data entry (No need for a full URL any more)
    RainBrowser compliant
I am sure there is more, but I can not identify it at the moment.

You will require the latest Rainmeter RC1 or higher.

this file is large at a little under 3MB compressed, so I have linked the download through my Dropbox
Download here:
SGTSplicerPackMoonPhase.zip

This skin is also available through Customize.org and DeviantArt

have fun folks ;)

I agree. That angle on the shadow is a really nice touch.

I am working with banjam to get a something a bit more accurate.
Not only does the shadow appear at an angle, in real life, but as teh moon moves across the heavens, the angle of the shadow moves as well. if he can get the correct calcs going and produced from his page, I will be doing a hell-of-a-next update :)

he finally picked up the following project after 3 years:

I also modified the shiny Graphic.
Rounded it just a bit from the traditional graphic and glassed and darkened just a little.

Pain in the rear ;)

But well worth it for the proper aesthetics

Zero at programing, zero at writing codes, so far 2 at making images
But I'm good at copy/paste, and I not always like this
