Shortcut to rainmeter's system tray icon

Post by kendog819 »

Hey All,

Is there a way of me creating a shortcut to add to rocketdock, that will act as the rainmeter settings program icon that runs in the system tray?

It gets quite annoying having to unhide my taskbar, and go to the systray, and rightclick, and do 1 action everytime i want to change something in rainmeter.

I have googled "create shortcut to system tray program" with no avail.

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks,

Ken

Apparently these two RocketDock addons allow you to access tray icons. I'm not a dock user, though, so I haven't tried them.

Thanks for the reply,

I actually have the 1st program installed which just shows/hides your taskbar. and the other just lets u add a folder to show your whole system tray.

I just want to add one icon (rainmeter) to the dock so i can quickly access settings.

I haven't tested it out, but this might be something close to what you want. Maybe.

Tray Popup
It's one of the tools that Santa_Ryan came out with, and I thought you might want I quick look at it. Other than this, I'm not too sure what to do about your issue.

Sorry!
This is my keyboard. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Hehe donut, just fyi, its not my program. It says so in the included documentation. :)
I have three rules when I'm trying to help you.
  • Don't get mad when you don't understand something
  • Be VERY specific with what you ask for.
The more specific you are, the higher the quality of support you receive.
  • Do not just copy and paste what I put in examples and come back saying it doesn't work.
It does work, but I purposely left blanks that you need to fill for your specific needs.

Thanks for the link, that program does atleast remove a step or 2. Not exactly what I am looking for, but it will definitely save time and a couple steps, so i am thankful for that.

Hopefully someone else comes along with some more info. I would think it would be possible to create a shortcut somehow to a systray program, maybe not though.

Thanks Again,

Ken

The !TrayMenu bang is what you probably are looking for. You can execute "Path\to\Rainmeter.exe !TrayMenu" to open the menu.

This is a built-in Rainmeter feature. You can create a Windows shortcut with the following target:

Code: Select all

"C:\Program Files\Rainmeter\Rainmeter.exe" !TrayMenu
