Removing taskbar permanently

I searched for awhile but , havent found anything on how to remove the windows 7 taskbar so I can put in rocket dock
If I just auto hide it , when I hover it , will just popup and has a small line that is not very visually pleasing.

I personally use this program to do it. It's light and when you do want the taskbar, CTRL+ESC brings it up.

I've also heard good things about Taskbar Eliminator, but I personally didn't like it.

I have also used the one mentioned, it works well. If you are using a dock, however, consider finding Objectdock Plus. It can hide the taskbar completely.
