CD Art Display Thread

Post by Digi »

hi guys

i think we should have a cd art display thread...i think CAD is such a perfect companian for rainmeter...they go so well together and you are bond to find a cad skin that commplement your rainmeter theme and add a touch to your desktop..

iam a noob at programming but i think the principles of making a skin for cad is not the same but similer and if you can make a skin for rainmeter then i think you can easly make one for cad..another reason for making this thread is that cad forum is not as lively as this forum and discussing cad issues and problem we will benfit more...

there is a few issues with cad like the error on shut down if you try to shut down while cad is running on win 7

any thoughts???

cad on my desktop

I've been using CAD for a while. But as the iTunesPlugin was released I got rid of it. I always loved it, and it has some function I'm missing in Rainmeter. Of course there is the compatibility for many different media players, which seems to be most attractiv for other users, but for me it was the support for hardware keys. As I got a "multimedia" keyboard I got several special buttons for Pause/Play and other nice things. But as I'm using Litestep (it somehow doesn't support the "program" to change the volume, I don't know why) and making a Pause/Play button in almost any Rainmeter topbar it isn't a big deal for me anymore.

And as I'm already familiar with skinning Rainmeter it was easiest for me to make skin to control the Media Player in Rainmeter. I actually tried my luck at doing a CD Art Display skin some weeks ago, but the only tutorial (or manual) how to make a skin was with the skin-maker which comes with CAD 2.0. I'm definitely not a fan of it, I don't know why but I just don't exactly get things as I want them (maybe I'm just too stupid ;) )

But both Rainmeter and CAD use .ini-files for skins, so you're probably right. There are for sure some similarities (which I haven't discovered yet :))

that very interesting my friend, i know the principles of shining rainmeter and cad r similar but don't know to what degree, it will be good to have more input on this from other members of the forum.
