Wallpapers

Post by iUnify »

My last post has a link to a wallpaper website and another member mentioned a wallpaper website that was awesome yet no longer is in operation.

Well, that led me to Google to do a 2 min search and I found a few quick sites.

http://www.tss2000.nl

http://www.dowwallpaper.com

They suck. Don't bother. There are no good sites for wallpaper. So, I am putting it out there, who the heck knows where I can go to find really kick ass wallpapers.

DevArt is cool... WinCustomize.... I posted about Desktopography... but come on... there has to be more!

I used to know one site that had a lot of wallpapers and I can't remember it for the life of me ... my fate is in your hands. ;)

gschoppe: ;) Thanks for the reply. I suppose it's just my luck with this kinda stuff- I actually got that site the other day... yesterday I think. Downloaded a good few. I already have a LOT of cool stuff but I am always looking for more.

Thanks though, got any more :?:

I actually prefer to make my own wallpapers. Sometimes just screwing around with complementary colours and various filters and layer effects can give you some very interesting effects. Some of my favourite wallpapers are actually complete flukes. For example, I will never know how I managed to do this, and it will NEVER be recreated, but I have it now, and I like it:

http://www.wall.alphacoders.com (credit to jsm for suggesting this site)

http://www.hdwallpapers.net

http://www.deviantart.com

http://www.aeonproject.com/backdrops.php?cat=bg_movies (the ultimate source for hd wallpapers) , actually they are meant for xbmc -aeon skin backgrounds but they can be used as wallpapers too...

those are some of the best sites i know....

Sweet, thanks guys! The more the better! I am so pissed off that I can not figure out the title of the site I used to visit a few years back. It was very good.

I have already posted the one but some may not have seen it and I really like the wallpapers here so....

http://www.desktopography.net

Bhadkow: This url does not work.... http://www.wall.aplhacoders.com/ I also tried just http://www.aplhacoders.com but get nothing.

JSMorley: If you see this before Bhadkow maybe you can add input- as he said you showed him the URL. :D

Everyone Else: All the links popped up- I haven't looked yet but I am on my way to- I'll let you all know if I find some stuff! Thanks so much for the links!

Keep 'em comin' if you got 'em! ;)

EDIT: I just Googled the broken link above... found it- http://www.alphacoders.com ... after looking closer it was a typo from the origional message reversing the proper placement of the p and l in "Alpha". :D Usually is something simple!! ;)

Also, Alex: Thanks a LOT for posting your handmade wallpapers. Would you mind posting a few? I like the one you put up. Nice work!! What do you usually do, photo-manipulate or start from scratch?

Sorry for the edit, just a little mix up!

4scrape is dead. Long live 4scrape.

4scrape is kinda resurrected 4walled.org. It has a smaller database, but it'll grow. I'm slightly ecstatic. Also, NSFW.

*hugs* Thank you!
Now I don't have to spend time on /wg/ anymore! \o/
I don't think, therefore I'm not.

4 Walled is by far the best site I have come across in a long time. The ability to search all of those sites from one location... and the results I get EVERY search is unmatched anywhere else when looking for great wallpapers.

:D :P  8-) ;) :) :ugeek: :D
