Pathetic Network Bandwidth.

Post by thorsummoner »

Sigh, I had to rearrange all my network meters ('cause I fixed an existing dsl line problem) to accomidate for the third digit of my new 120 kb's down bandwidth. Kind'of excited, but its a real downer to think i get excited over a 100kb'sec increase in my dsl bandwidth.

Your change in bandwidth sounds similar to mine. After 15 years of being stuck with dialup as my only option, I switched 2 months ago to a new regional 3G connection. It tops out at about 120 kB/s, too. I've been absolutely thrilled with it.

What's really annoying is that I'm only 2 miles out of reach from the local cable company's lines-- now at 50 Mb/s. There's nothing especially rural about my community (well, not for south central KY anyway). We were just unlucky when the digging was happening, I guess.

Mine do 100, but I don't see the need when 20 cost way less and does the job.
