Strang link in mails Rainmeter team

Post by Den Duze »

Hi,

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this but ...

I sometimes (last week 3) get mails where there are links to other sites then the Rainmeter Forum?
Is that normal? Why is that?

Example from today:
You are receiving this notification because you are watching the forum
"Plugins & Addons" at "Rainmeter Forums". This forum has received a new
topic by jaimekimball since your last visit,
"http://activelifedetox.net/one-two-slim/". You can use the following link
to view the forum, no more notifications will be sent until you visit the
forum.

If you no longer wish to watch this forum you can either click the
"Unsubscribe forum" link found in the forum above, or by clicking the
following link:

Thanks,
The Rainmeter Team
Why is that link "http://activelifedetox.net/one-two-slim/". in there??
if I click on the "https://forum.rainmeter.net/viewforum.php?f=18" then I also do not come in a specific topic where the mail is send for??

Regards
Didier

That external link that is embedded is certainly not normal, but isn't being sent by us. That would indicate to me that something is injecting it in your email. I would be tempted to run MalwareBytes AntiMalware to see if you don't have something going on on your system.

Edit: I have tested this, and that spam / advertising link you are getting embedded in that email is not coming from us. I do strongly suggest that you check your system for malware.
