ColorExtract is a plugin I wrote to get an approximation of the iTunes album view coloring algorithm into Rainmeter. It's definitely an "initial release" at this point, and I haven't built any real skins with it, but I've got it working on my machine, so I'd like to release it to the community to see where it leads.
I've got the source set up on GitHub, including some plugin documentation and some pre-built DLLs and a sample skin (which I'm attaching here for convenience).
(Also, hi. I've hung around in /r/Rainmeter in the past, but I've never posted on the main forum before, so here's my introduction, I guess.)

Re: Plugin: ColorExtract
This might be the biggest fail I've made in a while, but I can't seem to get the Color Extract plugin to work with the Album Covers from NowPlaying. Can anybody help please?

Re: Plugin: ColorExtract
The plugin is indeed great, I just downloaded and I like it. Some time ago I needed something like this, then I gave up the skin I worked with then, but now I think I'll restart that work.
This will return the path of the cover art. Add the sections of the demo skin (above) and modify on that code the ImagePath option of the [MeasureParent] measure:
Exophonics, I think you should use a PlayerType=Cover option, something like:Exophonics wrote:This might be the biggest fail I've made in a while, but I can't seem to get the Color Extract plugin to work with the Album Covers from NowPlaying. Can anybody help please?
Code: Select all
[MeasureCover]
Measure=Plugin
Plugin=NowPlaying.dll
PlayerName=[MeasurePlayer]
PlayerType=COVER
Code: Select all
[MeasureParent]
Measure=Plugin
Plugin=ColorExtract
ImagePath=[MeasureCover]
DynamicVariables=1

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, that's what I did but I found out my problem was as simple as not implementing an Update option on the Rainmeter section.balala wrote:The plugin is indeed great, I just downloaded and I like it. Re: Plugin: ColorExtract
Are you sure that was the problem? Because if you don't add an Update option, anyway the default Update=1000 is used, so this usualy don't gives you headache.Exophonics wrote:Thanks for the reply!
