[Bug] Bevels are less bevelly in 4.3

Post by SilverAzide »

Sorry for not posting this sooner. I just noticed this in a recent beta and it is in 4.3 Final as well.

In 4.2, using BevelType=1 (or 2?) makes a nice 3D style bevel (e.g., like Windows uses -- or used -- for button bevels). In 4.3, the bevels are just flat 2D black and white strips.

4.2:

4.3

Here is a simple test skin:

Code: Select all

[Rainmeter]
AccurateText=1
BackgroundMode=2
SolidColor=128,128,128
SkinWidth=160
SkinHeight=100
Update=1000

[PickColorFontTitle]
Meter=Image
BevelType=1
SolidColor=180,180,180,255
AntiAlias=1
X=30
Y=30
H=40
W=100

I can't imagine anything less needed, or that I care about less, than a 1994 bevel effect on meters... We should have gotten rid of that when we removed the built-in Dancing Baby effect.

If you really must try to bring back MySpace, I would recommend using a Shape meter.

Well OK! But I'm gonna post something snarky on GeoCities about this. Possibly with frowny-face ASCII art.

LOL.

Kidding aside, we appreciate any report of differences between 4.2 and 4.3, but I doubt we are going to put a lot of effort into fixing this.
