Huge Install

Post by silvester »

Hi,

at this point i stopped installing rainmeter. By around 60% it already copied 1,2 GB of data in 8.500 folders.
What is going on?

First of all: where do you get the install?
I don't think from here: https://www.rainmeter.net/

Second: are you sure your computer doesn't have some sort of malware installed?

Third: even from a trusted site, it's always better to scan every file you download before you install them.

Thanks for your Reply. I only use this given URL for downloads. While uninstalling i noticed, that it had tried to install to P:/programme, which was intended to be P:/programme/rainmeter. In fact, only a few directories and files were created, so the displayed numbers seemed only to be counting the whole lot of kb and directories present in P:/Programme.
Nothing wrong happened, everything is fine and running now after a fresh install. And sorry for the inconvenience with the Image, which was intended to be a link to a google photo.

Well, ok, now it has some sense, glad the problem is solved now.

So, I think you've changed the default path to where install Rainmeter, maybe inadvertently.

Yes i did not enter the whole path to P:/programme/rainmeter, as some other software would the install in p:/programme/software/software.

Now i have the correct image-url

Just to add some explanation.
