Rainmeter doesn't startup with Windows (10), tried everything
I have version 4.1 and I can't get it to start with Windows. I checked Run as Administrator because I need to override the DPI change due to one of my monitors being 4k. I tried everything I could find on the internet: adding Shortcut to Startup folder, Registry entry in Run folder, setting the shortcut to Run as Admin, adding it to the Startup list through another application. Nothing helps. I've always had UAC turned off, so it's not that either. I really don't know what else to do.

Have you tried reinstalling Rainmeter and checking the run on startup checkbox?
It won't remove your skins, it will just update the rainmeter installation

You will probably need to add it as a scheduled task that executes at startup.

"Start with Windows" was checked on installation, but I reinstalled it just to make sure. It didn't help.
I solved it, though. Well, it's a workaround, but at least it works now. It seems that Windows refuses to start an application automatically if admin rights are checked in Compatibility tab. I did what jsmorley suggested (thanks), but with some extra googling, as it didn't work on the first try. This is what I did and now it finally starts properly. Basically, I just had to add what's in 2nd step.

Glad to help. I'm a little surprised you need to run Rainmeter as Administrator to change this setting:
I have never had to do so...
