WLAN Reconnect/Connection refresh widget?

Post by penelope_b »

Does anyone know of one? I have one that craps out on me about every 5 hours, and having a quick button to press to reconnect rather than going through the whole windows 3 screen mess would be keen.

Thanks!

I don't think the current Rainmeter Wireless plugin supports that..

You need something that will refresh your WLAN connection periodically? Does your connection drop after a certain amount of time inactive, or is there another cause?

Perhaps instead of making an actual widget you just make a skin with a "button" that executes a batch script to renew your IP. This disables your adapters and causes them to reconnect to the router.

Here's a pretty simple VBScript that should do the trick: http://oreilly.com/pub/h/1142
