Currency Exchange - new skin

Post by maxthegold »

I have created a skin to display currency exchange rates. Hope someone finds it useful.
Please be gentle, I don't handle criticism well, and I might have to set my dog on you!

Total rubbish and waste of disk space. Who needs this kind of stuff anyway? And it looks ugly too!

Just kidding ;)

I'm sure this is useful for people who travel a lot or handle money on a regular basis. Do you get the exchange rates from the web or are they hard-coded?
Have more fun creating skins with Sublime Text 2 and the Rainmeter Package!

I was just getting the dog warmed up there.

The rates come from Google finance and are updated about once an hour.

I'll have a think about that. Thanks for the ideas. I did start to use ForexRate.co.uk for this application but it started to complain about me accessing the page too often, when I was testing. That was why I switched to Google. I didn't need an up to the minute value for my purposes so I just picked an hourly update at random, you could change the RateUp value in the CurrencyX skin to refresh more often. I am not sure how often Google finance updates though.
