Which is quite logical, if you think about it ... after all, he picked a fight with the most significant imperial powers at that time. Just sayin' ... :D

jsmorley wrote:Right, my link was just to illustrate why it is "imperial" and not "fahrenheit". Although at the end of the day, it's not terribly important, as you say, anything but "m" is considered imperial anyway. It defaults to imperial because we invented weather...
Welp, actually... if you fellers were real 'Merricans, you wouldn't use no gol' dang "imperial" neither. Way too English-soundin'. You'd know the correct terms are "metric" and "standard". Y'all ain't bought no socket wrenches lately? Come in either metric or standard...

Yes, I'M KIDDING, KIDDING!! :D

So that would be the Standard standard?

More like the Standard of all standards...

P.S. I always though there were too many 'standards' in this world, starting with languages and ending with the freakin' measurement units. People like to overcomplicate simple things though.

I think Weather.com has changed their XML a bit.

The current temperature and conditions are missing.

Some tags my RegExp was looking for have disappeared.
Also some tags of the XML at my locale are just blank:

Code: Select all

<part p="d">
<icon/>   <---HERE
<t/>      <---AND HERE
<wind>
<s>calm</s>
<gust>N/A</gust>

I think it was still working yesterday so the change is today.
Or is it some problem on their side?

Likely a temporary problem on their end.

<t/>
<icon/>

Code: Select all

My weather skin is too small to show the <icon>, but <tmp>, <flik> and <t> all worked fine for my skin the last two days, so one possibility is that it might be a localized issue. Now that I checked, the <icon> and <t> are indeed blank in the XML for <day d="0"...> and <part p="d">, but as far as I remember, when I was designing the skin a while ago I noticed a couple of hours during the night (roughly 1:00 to 3:00 local time) when these values go blank in the XML before updating - and now it's within that time frame, so this could be the second possibility.

I'll check again the XML in the morning to see if those fields stay blank, but I doubt it will happen.
