Display SWF File

Post by msekolpsu »

Can you add a swf file to a Rainmeter config somehow and just have it run?

Better yet - can you point to a SWF file online and have it display in a window?

No...

lol
I have three rules when I'm trying to help you.
  • Don't get mad when you don't understand something
  • Be VERY specific with what you ask for.
The more specific you are, the higher the quality of support you receive.
  • Do not just copy and paste what I put in examples and come back saying it doesn't work.
It does work, but I purposely left blanks that you need to fill for your specific needs.

This is the song that never ends. It just goes on and on my friends. Some people started singing it not knowing what it was, and they'll continue singing it forever just because . . .

The only desktop application that I use who can do that is DS (Desktop Sidebar)

In the screenshot below you have the clock from a local swf file, and your swf Url in the bottom (I set the today date from the panel).

Please note...
This application is fully functional in Windows XP, but it is no longer developed*, some panels like the volume control will not work in Windows Vista and 7.
*(the development stop when Microsoft hire the developer when they was working on the development of Windows Vista.)

GM
If at first you don't succeed; call it version 0.1

It should be noted that just viewing that .swf in Firefox caused a 30% or better CPU usage. I'd be cautious about trying to use it as an active desktop background.
