System tray

Post by pratchettfan777 »

Is there a plug-in or the like to show what is running in the TRAY or has anyone done it differently? Thanks in advance ! :Embarrassed:

Rainmeter was originally made to go with Litestep. So no. It will not conflict.
I use bbLean myself and that too does not conflict with rainmeter.
I don't think, therefore I'm not.

I have actually found one issue with running Rainmeter alongside Litestep. When Rainmeter first loads, not all skins are shown. It seems to be skins which are set to "On Desktop." A click anywhere makes them appear though.

This does not seem to be a problem when running Rainmeter as a Litestep plugin.

Emerge desktop is another good shell replacement which has full system tray functionality along with a few other nice features like a taskbar replacement, a hotkey manager, and a run box.

Aye. A year or two ago I used Emerge. It was pretty nice and I rather liked it, although it felt kinda barebones at the time. This may have changed since then though, as I haven't really checked up on it since. A friend of mine convinced me to try out Litestep with him so I reluctantly switched, as I had become used to Emerge. I found that Litestep is much more customizable, and I ended up making my own little theme for it that I happily used until I got my hands on Windows 7. In my theme I had the sys tray hidden behind the time and date, and it only appeared when you moused over it. I definitely encourage you to check them out.
