Dynamic Quote Skin

Post by PlayedParrot »

Hello, Rainmeter Forums. I'm a newcomer to Rainmeter itself and I have very little experience with forum etiquette so I apologize if I mistype or am difficult to work with.

I have a quote skin on my desktop at the moment, and it is quite static:

Code: Select all

[Rainmeter]
Author=Birdy

[QuoteStyle]
FontColor=255,0,0
FontSize=38
AntiAlias=1

[Quote]
Meter=STRING
FontEffectColor=20,0,0
StringEffect=SHADOW
FontFace=Geosanslight
MeterStyle=QuoteStyle
Text=""Nothing is true,#CRLF# Everything is permitted.""
As the title says I am interested in a dynamic quote skin. I have tried to use google but the few skins I have found can't seem to cooperate with me. Could any of you advise me on how to write this static skin into a dynamic one on my own?

What you seek already exists as the quotes plugin.

Well look at that. Much appreciated, Seahorse. In the future I will read a little more thoroughly before posting.

No problem mate, I do the same as you all the time. I've just been here a little longer so asked them before you... ;-)
