I prefer yours, much easier to figure out and edit.

Re: a few days left for Google Reader
I got it working if you enter your required feed into http://www.rssmix.com/ and then use the link generated in your skin instead of the original it works fine!!
Edit: One side effect is the links don't seem to be clickable as they were previously.

Re: a few days left for Google Reader
I was having the exact same problem as gffmac...I too have copied the skin several times, naming them appropriately, but having RM crash due to a webparser.dll error however.moshi wrote: ....what you could try is putting a semicolon in front of UniNewsSubstitute like this:. it should require less processing power then.Code: Select all
;UniNewsSubstitute=...
So your solution (quoted) has worked for me so far. Adding the semicolon renders the substitute code to be ignored, right?
Anyway, thanks for your work!
UPDATE: I spoke too soon! RM still crashing!
Here's the error:
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH

UPDATE2: Instead of running 4 Feeds, I removed the 4th one, and am using only 3 now.....No errors. Guess I had too many going, using up too much processor.
UPDATE3: How stupid of me...I didn't notice that you'd updated your original post with a new version 1.4, and fixed some resource-draining issues. Just installed it, and am able to run all 4 of my feeds with no problems! YES!

Re: a few days left for Google Reader
yes. to learn more about substitutions i suggest reading this tutorial. http://docs.rainmeter.net/tips/rss-feed-tutorial, so you could build a smaller one that suits your needs. UniNews uses regular expression substitutes, you should keep that in mind if you are going to build your own.So your solution (quoted) has worked for me so far. Adding the semicolon renders the substitute code to be ignored, right?
