DesktopWorkArea settings not respected

Post by cullenjd »

I'm trying to reserve the top part of my screen for rainmeter using DesktopWorkArea, however it appears to have no effect. I've tried restarting all programs, rainmeter, and the OS - no change.

I'm working on a laptop with Vista, Rainmeter 1.2 rev 393. Any help would be much appreciated.

You are trying to reserve 30 pixels at the top of the screen correct? You also need to account for the height of your taskbar. If your taskbar is 34 pixels high, subtract that from the 800 in your last part of DWA settings.

DesktopWorkArea=0,30,1280,766

Restart Rainmeter.

There are also some instances of other software causing a System Refresh, which will kill Rainmeter's DesktopWorkArea settings and restore Windows' default ones.
