Re: Help required PLZZZZZZZZZZ
Something has gotten hosed with your user account. Either you or a malware / virus has changed your UAC settings or your account has gotten corrupted somehow.
I would use System Restore and revert to a "Save Point" from yesterday or sometime before this started happening. It's not a problem with Rainmeter, it is something in you OS.

Re: Help required, "Rainmeter.ini is not writable"
I am having the same issue. I am pretty certain that I don't have a security issue though. My laptop is 3 days old and I've only downloaded my anti-spyware, revo uninstaller, malwarebytes and rainmeter 1.2. I'm new to the program and I got to play around a little bit, but then, suddenly, rainmeter.ini is'nt writable anymore. Please help me.

Try exiting and restarting Rainmeter. Any change?meyer1324 wrote:I am having the same issue. I am pretty certain that I don't have a security issue though. Get the little utility in this post: http://rainmeter.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4394 and post the result here.... Just like some backgound on your system and Rainmeter setup.

Do I need to do anything before the "analyze" option will allow me to press it? The tool is open, but I cannot use it.

Re: Help required, "Rainmeter.ini is not writable"
Ok.. It is not finding one of the critical folders that Rainmeter uses. Do you have "My Documents" defined somewhere other than the default Windows location (did you change it to another drive or folder?).meyer1324 wrote:C:\Program Files\Rainmeter\Rainmeter.exe
Basically by default Rainmeter installs like this:
Default File Locations
The Program:
Windows XP: C:\Program Files\Rainmeter
Windows Vista & Win7: C:\Program Files\Rainmeter
Your "Skin" files
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\My Documents\Rainmeter\Skins
Windows Vista & Win7: C:\Users\YourName\My Documents\Rainmeter\Skins
Rainmeter.ini and your "Themes"
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Application Data\Rainmeter
Windows Vista & Win7: C:\Users\YourName\Appdata\Roaming\Rainmeter
See if your stuff is in those locations. If not, where are they?

Re: Help required, "Rainmeter.ini is not writable"
Actually, if you can post a screenshot of what RainEnv looks like, it might help.
