Rainmeter will not start up

When i try to open rainmeter upon startup of my laptop, is does not run. it shows up in my hidden apps page, but the icon dissapears when i hover my mouse over it. i have not changed anything since the last time rainmeter has run. i have tried restarting, reinstalling rainmeter, changing battery settings, etc.
what is going on?

this is my first post on this forum so let me know if anything is wrong.

It's more likely that some skin you are running is the problem.

I would go to %APPDATA%\Rainmeter in Windows file explorer, and rename or delete Rainmeter.ini. Then start Rainmeter.

If all is well, then Rainmeter will start with the default illustro skins. If so, then you can unload those and start loading your skins one at a time until you find the one crashing Rainmeter.

If not, then there is something more fundamental wrong.
