Hey, I've been trying to use this for a bit, downloaded a bunch of system information skins, but the mayority of em don't render resources at all.
I tried looking for a solution to this problem but I couldn't find any, so I decided to make a thread in hopes to get some help O:
If you need any extra info I'll be happy to give it, just really want this program to work fully.

Re: Most skin resources don't render?
We need to get this off on the right foot from the start, or we can't help you.
1) Go to About / Version and click on the Copy button there. Paste the result into your reply here, so we can see what version of Rainmeter you are on, where things are installed, and what version of Windows you are using.
2) Go to About / Log see what kind of errors you might be getting. Copy and paste some of them that seem relevant.
3) Post links to one or more of the skins that are not working for you. How can we possible even begin to help if we don't know what skins you are having problems with, and where to get them?

Re: Most skin resources don't render?
Many system resource skin require an external program to be running that gathers detailed hardware info; CoreTemp, SpeedFan, HWiNFO, etc.
The latest UsageMonitor plugin can be used to get any value supplied by Windows Performance Monitor.
It would help to know what skin(s) you are trying to run, what version of Windows you use, and what versions of Rainmeter.
All of your system and Rainmeter info can be copied from the 'Version' tab of the Log.
Edit: Didn't see the previous post until after posting (I yearn for the old forum that would always show post made while composing one, this is not as vigilant ... ah, well ... )

I had downloaded SpeedFan, HWinfo and Coretemp, left em running on the background and it didn't change anything.

Re: Most skin resources don't render?
From the list of error messages, I do not think you installed the skin using the built in SkinInstaller. The Gadget skin should be in a folder named "Gadgets" not the path you posted "gadgets_4_0_0_by_silverazide-d8n4kvx\Skins\Gadgets"...DragonDenton wrote:...

This might be because the "rmskin" type was changed to "zip" by your browser when you downloaded the skins.
Change the file extension from .zip to .rmskin and then double-click the file to have the skins installed by Rainmeter.
You can manually install them, but if you rename the root folder, it may cause problems finding the needed supporting file.

Changing the file type to .rmskin and downloading the beta instead of final stable build worked, thanks a buncheclectic-tech wrote:From the list of error messages, I do not think you installed the skin using the built in SkinInstaller. Re: Most skin resources don't render?
Thought you might have created a real problem since you have been so busy modding skins for the new UsageMonitor!SilverAzide wrote:Whew... Thank Eclectic-tech!
No, it was a common new user issue...
Saved from a fate worse than death!
