Rainmeter doesn't seem to work ?

Post by Akanaks »

Hello guys !
I've been tempted to download and install Rainmeter, which I did.
But surprise, Rainmeter 4.0 didn't seem to launch. An error report said "Rainmeter stopped working".
So I went back and downloaded an older version until it finally worked and apparently, Rainmeter 3.2.1 is the limit to what my computer can run ... Although it runs GTA V with high settings.
So I don't know, maybe someone has an answer ? I feel restricted as I can barely find skins for this version...

Thank you for you help ! I'd like to be part of this community at some point if the software finally works :P

Are you running any skins on V4.0 when it starts? I have made a few skins that I did something stupid and it crashes Rainmeter.

Try making sure that no skins are getting loaded and then see if it loads. Also posting what OS would be a help.

Hi,

Well no, because it crashes when launching it.
Like, double click and then error message so no time to install a skin !

Still don't have what OS you are using? XP Win 7 Vista etc

Look in this location

Code: Select all

C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Rainmeter
for rainmeter.ini

Edit the file so it contains only

Code: Select all

[Rainmeter]
SkinPath=C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\Documents\Rainmeter\Skins\
Logging=0
See if that helps

I'm using it on windows 7
As for your line of code, it doesn't work :/

I also uninstalled it and deleted all data before reinstalling it before changing the code but it didn't do anything...

Hi,

I do not know if it can help, but you can try installing runtimes like the "Net-Framework" or Microsoft Visual C ++ (all versions).
