Thank you for your reply. It seems silent install isn't necessary as it can be unpacked with either 7z or RAR. It would be needed for Rainmeter 32bit but eventually 32bit will be phased out anyway so I'm not bothered about that.

I have not yet updated to Rainmeter 4 due to time commitments, but now I've had a look at it and discussed with another user, RM doesn't appear to be portable once unpacked via 7z or RAR. So I'm wondering, what defines if RM works in portable mode or standard installation?
Is it simply that if the Rainmeter.ini is in the app directory, it becomes aportable app?

No worries found out, it is the Rainmeter.ini file granting portability.
